“People reached” is our projected community reach: the midpoint of our estimate of everyone the program touched beyond the people in the room, such as families, classmates, colleagues and neighbors.

Twelve professionals who work with young people spent two hours exploring their own communication tendencies through character creation and narrative development.

Seeing yourself as a character makes it easier to talk about how you show up with colleagues and with the young people you serve. The session opened space for vulnerability, authentic dialogue and discussion of how to use the approach with youth.

I left with an idea I could adapt for the young people I work with and also got my son enrolled in another program run by the same facilitators. He is 12 and once he took the program we had some amazing dialogue and things to talk more deeply about, together.
