“People reached” is our projected community reach: the midpoint of our estimate of everyone the program touched beyond the people in the room, such as families, classmates, colleagues and neighbors.

Fourteen students with special needs took part in a fully inclusive creative experience on the Cooley Comics digital platform, supported by five teachers and aides and four Cooley Comics facilitators.

The web app let students work at their own pace and keep going beyond the classroom. Students who may struggle in traditional academic settings expressed ideas in new ways, and teachers saw breakthroughs: students visualizing and sharing ideas that had been hard to communicate before.

Two students used the web app outside scheduled sessions to catch up after missing class. A library program director praised the workshop's accessibility for learners with reading and writing challenges.
