Welcome to the first step of EVERY Cooley Comics experience, creating a character! This process will help you express yourself through a fictional superhero or personal character, allowing you to explore your strengths, values, and challenges in a fun and creative way.
Outcomes
You’ll create an initial character based on the questions provided in the form below. Once you complete the form you will receive an email with an AI iteration of your inputs. The character can be used for your own personal purposes or as a starting point for further development with us. Once you’ve completed this step, you can choose to stop at the character creation process or continue on to the Story App (Beta).

Things to consider before you begin
Step 1: Prepare
Before you begin, find a quiet, comfortable space where you can focus and reflect. This could be at your desk, in a cozy corner, or even outdoors to spark your creativity. Establish a Character Creation Area to keep your ideas organized as you define your human form character.
Step 2: Define Character
To create your character, begin by answering the questions (in the form below) about their basics: age, gender, geographic origin, body type, hairstyle, facial hair (if any), hair color, clothing style, and the colors of their clothes. Once you’ve defined these, think about the artistic style you’d like your character to be depicted in and any unique traits or stories you’d like to explore. You may want to write these down ahead of time, but you can also dive right into the form below. We’ve provided a PDF guide to help you explore different art styles and choose the one that best fits your character.
Step 3: Receive AI Image
We’re using AI to help bring your human form character to life. By filling out the form below, you’ll input your ideas and the AI will generate a character based on your responses and email it to you. This allows you to experiment and visualize your character in fresh and unexpected ways.
Below is a video about Large Language Models and AI, explaining how the AI works and assists in the character creation process. You can fill out the form multiple times and create as many versions of your character as you like, so feel free to try different ideas and refine your character.

Our guided comic making experience is where the magic happens! In this step, we’ll help you turn your initial character into a fully developed persona with a custom character sheet, complete with backstory, traits, and everything that makes them unique. This step is essential for digging deeper into Cooley Comics programs. All you need to do is email us to try the beta and take your character to the next level!
Our app is gives you your own personal space to make changes to your character, adjust your story, make new characters, and more! You can only access it through a workshop or by making your own character. Start by filling out the character form and look for emails that will help you get into the app!
